Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Yes. Dogs over 6 months of age are required to be up to date on DAPP and Rabies vaccines. Puppies are required at least one round of DAPP administered 7 days prior to the start of class, Bordetella recommended. If you plan to join any group class, you will need to email vaccines to [email protected] or upload into the portal upon sign up.

2. HOW MANY DOGS ARE IN EACH GROUP CLASS?

Classes have space for between 6-8 people per class. This way, we ensure that every individual will get enough time with the instructor to get value out the of the group classes. To maximize your 1:1 training time, we recommend private training.

3. HOW DO I KNOW IF MY DOG IS CONSIDERED A "REACTIVE" DOG?

If your dog growls, barks, and lunges at other dogs while on leash, we'd consider them to be a reactive dog. This is the behavior we'll look to correct regardless of whether your dog is friendly to other dogs or not when off-leash.

4. HOW DO YOU PREVENT DOG REACTIONS IN GROUP SETTINGS?

The 1st group class will be for the humans only. You'll learn how to enter and exit the building with your dog one at a time, to prevent reactions. We also set up individual stations & visual barriers for each dog in the class so that the dogs *cannot* see each other. The only time they'll see other dogs it when it's their turn to come out of their station for exposure to triggers.

5. WHAT IF THE TRIGGERED DOG GROUP CLASS IS FULL?

We recommend signing up for private training for reactive dogs daytraining + private training lessons in the meantime then!
